Field Trips

Where Classroom Learning Takes Flight

At Raptor Hallow Sanctuary, field trips are more than a day away from school—they’re standards-based learning experiences that come alive. Our programs are intentionally designed to support Ohio Learning Standards while immersing students in real-world science, conservation, and environmental stewardship.

Through live animal encounters, free-flight bird demonstrations, guided nature exploration, and hands-on activities, students don’t just learn about ecosystems, adaptations, and biodiversity—they experience them.

What Your Students Will Experience

Every field trip includes a rotating mix of engaging, age-appropriate activities led by our experienced educators and animal care staff:

  • 🦅 Exciting Free-Flight Bird Demonstration
Watch raptors soar overhead as students learn about adaptations, ecosystems, and conservation in an unforgettable live presentation.

  • 🌿 Guided Nature Walk
Explore the park with one of our knowledgeable docents while discovering native habitats, wildlife signs, and ecological connections.

  • 🎨 Nature-Themed Craft or Activity
Hands-on learning tailored to your group’s age level—perfect for reinforcing science concepts in a creative way.

  • 🦉 Guided Exhibit Tour (Optional by Request)
Meet our resident ambassador animals and hear their rescue stories while learning about animal welfare and conservation.

After structured programming, groups are welcome to explore at their own pace.

A Perfect Setting for School Groups

Our new facility is located within a public park, offering:

  • Picnic tables and pavilions for lunch

  • Playground access for student breaks

  • Open space for movement and exploration

This makes Raptor Hallow an ideal destination for a full, stress-free field trip day.

This Is the Moment Students Never Forget

Imagine your students standing quietly… eyes wide… as an owl glides silently just inches overhead.

This isn’t a video on a screen or a picture in a textbook—it’s real, powerful, and unforgettable. Moments like these spark curiosity, deepen understanding, and create lifelong connections to wildlife and conservation.

At Raptor Hallow Sanctuary, learning doesn’t just happen—it takes flight.
